At REVLAB we provide a panic button solution that is compliant with the laws and mandates in each state. Panic Buttons have been put into law in two different areas across the United States. One of those areas is Schools and the other is Hotels. Panic buttons for hotels are manly in place due to sexual harassment and assault in guest room. These panic buttons are there to protect any worker that enters a guest room by themselves. For schools it is required for the case of any school emergency but mainly for a shooting. The silent alarms will help warn of a potential danger quicker than any other system without letting the attacker know that information is being transmitted about them.
If you continue reading you can see the current states and cities with laws in place for both schools and hotels for panic buttons.

This is a companion bill to the the house bill and the house bill has yet to be accepted as of September 2020. Hotels
Passed
Illinois
Illinois signed comprehensive workplace sexual harassment legislation in August 2019. One of the pieces was called the Workplace Transparency Act. Although it does not specifically say that Panic Buttons are now required, it is a better way to protect those who need it in the moment than just a bunch of words on a page saying they are protected. You can read the Act HERE.
New Jersey
New Jersey was one of the first states to approve the Panic Button law for hotels which protects hotel staff from violence or harassment. You can read the Act HERE. The Panic Button law was enacted on June 11, 2019 and went into effect on December 1, 2019.
Miami
The Miami Beach City Commission unanimously voted through a law requiring hotels to arm their staff with safety buttons in order to protect them from harassment. This law was passed in July 2018 and went into effect on August 1, 2019. The hearing for this law can be read HERE.
Washington
The Washington Governor signed in a new bill on May 13, 2019 that not only targets hotel staff but also any business with staff that works alone for a long period of time, which includes Custodians, Security Guards, Housekeepers, and Room Service Attendants. The bill can be read HERE.

States have seen the potential in the addition to panic buttons in schools and hotels. Every second counts in the situations that require those panic buttons. Most situations do not allow you to pull out your phone and talk to the police about an altercation that you are in, so having an app on your phone that only needs to be pressed once will not only save time, it may save lives. Also the assaulter will be able to stop a call with the police by hanging up the phone before they are connected but with our panic button the only way to stop the silent alarm is through a password.
At REVLAB we are constantly improving our app to better fit your business or school. We listen to feedback and incorporate it into our future updates. If you want to know more about REVLAB's panic buttons please contact us and we will get back to you as quickly as possibly.
If you wish to know more about the laws that were signed in you can use the links that are at the end of each section which will take you directly to the law in question.
Thanks for reading.
